Merry CHRIST-mas!

Just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

If you don't celebrate Jesus, but are enjoying the day off tomorrow - it must be nice to have your cake and eat it, too.

Eh?

Annoying Celebrities and their Annoying Teacup Dogs! (Part 2)

People generally love sequels. Even though most of the time we know the second installation in a movie series will not be as good as the first, we hold out hope that it will.

Take the breakout monster smash hit Hangover featuring Bradley Cooper. It was balls the wall popular..

Wait, what does that even mean?

Anyway, it was a smash. Hilariously funny.

The second one - not so much. We will not even talk about the third one.

Previously, I spoke about celebrities and their teacup dogs. There I mentioned the teacup Pomeranian. I forgot to mention one of the most popular teacup dogs of all-time. That is right, the teacup Chihuahua.

I am remiss in mentioning the fact that this dog has a movie series (Beverly Hills Chihuahua), commercial deals (Taco Bell) and slutty celebutantes toting it around (Paris Hilton).

And this designer dog can come with designer prices - that is right - several thousands of dollars for the privilege of picking up its miniature turds. Enjoy.

Annoying Celebrities and their Annoying Teacup Dogs!

I am admittedly biases against small teacup type dogs.  Frankly, there is a visceral repulsion nowadays given the growing trend of celebrities using dogs as accessories.

It is almost as if the dog merely serves as a prop as I highly doubt these self-absorbed vermin of Hollywood really give a damn about these living creatures they tote around in their purses and fancy automobiles.

Sharon Osborne and her hubby, famed rocker Ozzy Osborne, were seen together strolling along as she had her "teacup pomeranian" cradled under her arm like a football with hand attached to said arm also carrying a glass of water with a straw in it.

The whole thing seems so preposterous to me.

Sharon also wore a white scarf which matched her adorable Teacup Pomeranian Bella, whom she refers to as her 'child.'

The dog-loving family has 12 critters, including two other Teacup Pomeranians called Pippy and Mr. Chips as well as an English bulldog named Lola.
Her child? No...her children are the two trainwrecks we see popping up on the tabloids every so often. Ugh.

Ingrown Toenails are a .....

Ingrown toenails are [insert blank]!

I may need ingrown toenail surgery at this rate and have been doing some research on the subject.  Is anyone familiar with the Vandenbos procedure?  I found this website where it discusses the procedure and states that ingrown toenails are not actually ingrown toenails, but are actually cases of overgrown toeskin.  Say what!

South Carolina: Bill to Ban Exotic Pets for Sale

Legislation in South Carolina would make it illegal to sell and own numerous types of exotic pets, including lions bears and boa constrictors.

Representatives from the Humane Society, the agency that helped craft the bill, tell us public safety and proper care of animals are the driving factors behind the bill. Others say exotic and "dangerous" animals simply get more bad publicity than good.

If you are not aware, there is a rather sizable contingent of reptile and exotic animal enthusiasts in the United States.  You can find ads for various types of pet monkeys, iguanas, snakes and lizards and even exotic domesticated cats.

If you are interested in searching for various exotic animals for sale, here are some links to a website with free classified ads listing exotic pets for sale, including:

bearded dragons for sale
iguanas for sale
crested geckos for sale
leopard geckos for sale
parrots for sale
ball pythons for sale
corn snakes for sale
kinkajou for sale
sugar gliders for sale
monkeys for sale

Whether it be the numerous trade shows occurring on a nearly weekly basis or the litany of blogs and forums dedicated to the subject online, there is quite a passionate interest in this subject.

However, the support to keep these animals available has been overwhelming."It is probably the second or third most opposed bill I've seen since I've been here," said Rep. Kirkman Finlay. "Various people feel their livelihood will be negatively impacted."

It doesn't sound like this bill is going to find much support in South Carolina, but you wonder when it will spread to other states.

Just Watch the Kids

Below is a post that I stumbled upon that I thought you all would care to read.

REPOSTED from Farmers Electric Coop:

Just Watch the Kids

I’m generally a “glass-half-full” kind of guy. I try to stay upbeat, positive and balanced in my approach to business and life. But even the most optimistic types have to wrestle with real world issues of work, family and life. Today was just beautiful here in North Texas. Over a plate lunch of Tex-Mex, I looked out through the restaurant window and noticed across the street a playground full of children, probably not more than 4 or 5 years old. They were playing, running, jumping and making full use of the slides, ladders, swings and merry-go-rounds. They were enjoying the day the way that only small children can. No worries about unemployment, the national debt, crime rates, tax credits, fuel prices or Afghanistan. I set my fork down, and for a few moments let my mind wander as I watched from a distance. Now, I don’t have clinical proof, but I could almost guarantee you that my heart rate slowed, my blood pressure dropped, and my mood improved dramatically just sitting there, as my mind drifted back to easier, more innocent times.
Maybe we could learn something from the children. I’m not the first person to make this observation. Robert Fulghum wrote a bestseller a few years ago titled, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. In his book, Fulghum notes that wisdom is not taught in graduate schools, but on the “sand pile at Sunday School.” There we learn to share, play fair, don’t hit, put things back, don’t take what isn’t yours, say you’re sorry, wash your hands, flush, take naps, watch out for each other, hold hands and stick together.
It’s been noted that while we might know the cost of something, do we really know its value? We teach children all about reading, writing and arithmetic, but I think we could relearn from kids about sharing, caring and the Golden Rule. Perhaps monkey bars should be standard-issue equipment in business and government?
Christmas will be here shortly, and I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. The kids will soon be tearing through carefully arranged ribbons and bows in search of Santa’s treasures. Take time to let your mind wander back to happy times when all you really cared about was keeping up with the other kids on the playground.
It’s an honor to have served another year as the general manager of your electric cooperative. From all of us here at Farmers Electric Cooperative, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Bob Seger...really?

Here is a cute story.

A Michigan woman awoke from a coma a couple of years ago with a wish of seeing Bob Seger perform live in concert.  She got her wish.  Tonight, she will be at the concert at The Palace in Auburn Hills...and she has an invite to the after-party...

“(Her story) was definitely nothing I had heard before,” Ann Tenbrusch, who works for Seger's management company, told MLive.com in Michigan. “I always want to try to help out with stories like that because Bob loves his fans. It’s such a cool story I just wanted to help out in any way I could.”

Branan suffered a massive stroke six years ago, and has been residing in at the Willowbrook Manor nursing home in Flint Township ever since.

She came out of the semi coma on May 7, 2011 uttering her impulsive wish to go see the 67-year-old Seger, a Michigan native and the creator of such classic hits as "Night Moves," "Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man" and "Turn the Page."
Rock on, Sista!
